Ch. Sir Constantine de Barba Negra at Philoma
Top Dog in Giant Schnauzers 2025
Ch. Sir Constantine de Barba Negra at Philoma (Harry) is an exceptional young male Giant Schnauzer, imported from the renowned Barba Negra kennel to strengthen our bloodlines.
With a striking square outline, strong movement, and classic Schnauzer expression, he has quickly made his mark in the UK show scene. His accolades include multiple CCs, Best in Shows, Reserve Best in Shows, and further Group placements at Championship level. Harry won the 2024 Schnauzer of the Year award through the Schnauzer Club of GB for his incredible achievements (all three sizes).
He was also the OurDogs Top GS Dog & Top GS Puppy for 2024, and held onto his title as Top GS Dog again for 2025. At the halfway-mark, Harry is currently sitting as joint Top GS again this year, tied with our Ch. Philoma Simon Templar at Barnsdale
Harry has so far produced three litters, one of which has already seen two Champions made up ( Noni - Ch. Philoma When Harry Met Remy), and another win their Junior Warrant Award (Bodie - Ch. Philoma The Professional JW). Bodie and Noni won multiple Best Puppy in Breed awards during their puppy career, and both have already begun to excel in their adult career, holding 7 CCs between them.
From his 2025 litter, Philoma Houdini has also been excelling in the ring, with multiple BPIBs, and is currently sitting as Top Giant Schnauzer Puppy at the halfway-mark for 2026.
Ch. Philoma One Night Only
Best of Breed winner at Crufts 2023
Ch. Philoma One Night Only (Night) is our outstanding male Giant Schnauzer here at Philoma, and we are immensely proud of his show record. He has earned multiple Dog CCs, Group placements, Best in Shows and Reserve Best in Shows.
Night is the son of our homebred girl Philoma Leading Lady (Lupa) and sired by Skansen's Pickpocket II at Philoma (Dodger). He exemplifies the kind of quality, type, and temperament we aim to breed at Philoma... strong, correct, and always showing with heart.
Night has retired for the time being from showing to allow his younger kennel mate Harry to take his place. Whilst not yet used at stud, we have exciting plans for Night in the near future.
Ch. Philoma Leading Lady
Ch. Philoma Leading Lady (Lupa) is a feminine powerhouse in the ring, embodying the breed type we strive for at Philoma.
She is a beautifully constructed Champion bitch. Her bone, feet, and proportions are excellent, and she shows both style and substance, capturing attention both standing and moving. Lupa’s show record is nothing short of excellent. She was consistently a top winning dog during her time in the ring.
Lupa has only had one litter, producing singleton Ch. Philoma One Night Only, who went on to win Best of Breed at Crufts in 2023. She personifies the elegance, soundness, and temperament Philoma aims to breed, and carries our hopes for future generations.
Skansen's Pickpocket II at Philoma
Skansen’s Pickpocket II at Philoma (Dodger) is one of our proud males here at Philoma, showing strong potential with a clean outline, good length of head, and strong body confirmation.
He’s demonstrated quality in competition, commended by judges for his bone, substance, and temperament.
Notably, he also won the Progeny class with three of his offspring, reflecting both his type and his ability as a sire. Dodger has produced two champions, including Philoma One Night Only (Night), who won Best of Breed at Crufts in 2023.
Dodger embodies the kind of balanced structure, coat texture, and working‑breed character that we aim for in our Philoma lines.
Ch. Philoma Ghetto Calipso
Ch. Philoma Ghetto Calipso (Stryder) was one of our proudest achievements at Philoma.
A male Giant Schnauzer of great presence and strength, Stryder quickly proved himself in the show ring, earning the title of Champion and also winning Best of Breed at the World Dog Show in Finland on both days he exhibited.
True to the Philoma type, he carried not only a commanding outline and immaculate coat, but also the temperament and soundness that we strive for in all our dogs. Stryder contributed to the breed as a sire, with several puppies that made up as Champions, reflecting his quality and character, and firmly cementing himself as a foundation dog in our breeding program.
